What the role is about

The Junior Financial Controller is part of the Accounting and Reporting team, which consists of the Accounting & Reporting Manager, Financial Controllers, IFRS Specialist and a Financial Systems Specialist. This team reports to the Group Finance Director. The Accell Group Finance department is a team of colleagues and also includes Business Control, Business Intelligence, Tax and Treasury. In this job you are responsible for:

  • Improving the quality of the Group reports
  • Responsible for the timely and correct delivery of the financial reports of the group in accordance with IFRS
  • Maintain good relationships with the local Controller of the subsidiaries
  • Control of the total overview of report to be delivered, templates and the technical structure within the financial reporting systems
  • Monitoring compliance with accounting guidelines and procedures in accordance with IFRS and designing possible improved internal and external reporting formats
  • Supports the coordination and execution of the planning and control cycle in which the budget and the periodic results are reported
  • Supports the operating companies to identify differences between the Group’s accounting guidelines and local figures
  • Checks collected data for correctness and completeness and identifies imperfections in compliance with the accounting guidelines
  • Ensures follow-up and contributes solutions and improvement to the design of the systems or processes used that influence the reports
  • Take part in organization-wide projects and provide advice in the design of new financial reports and the application of accounting guidelines

    To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, as assigned. Below are the required skills for the successful candidate.

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accountancy or Business Economics
  • 0-2 years of financial work experience
  • Interested in analytics, reporting and related applications.
  • Good Dutch and English language skills, both written and verbal;
  • Analytical thinking: strong in problem analysis and judgement
  • Great learning ability
  • Ambition to develop your own skills and knowledge.
  • Result-oriented: focus on ‘getting things done’, able to plan their own work and set priorities.
