BACKGROUND
If you are passionate about making a lasting difference for Palestine refugees, an internship with UNRWA will give you the opportunity to work on promoting the rights and well-being of Palestine refugees. You would work within UNRWA’s private partnerships division, supporting the digital fundraising team to increase online donations, build relationships with individual supporters, and improve UNRWA’s brand and online presence.
The digital fundraising team uses a range of digital marketing software including email marketing tools, content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management software (CRM), social media and search engine advertising. The digital fundraising intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in these tools and platforms. In addition, the intern will gain experience in the development of awareness and fundraising campaigns and will have the opportunity to create published communications materials for a UN Agency.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: A university degree or technical certificate from an accredited institution
Work Experience: Applicants are not required to have professional work experience, although prior experience in fundraising and development/humanitarian programmes will be an advantage.
Languages: Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic, including the ability to create content in modern standard Arabic. Working command of spoken and written English.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
· University specialization in a field related to communications and media, social sciences, international development, or the humanitarian sector is desirable;
· Experience in a professional office environment is an asset;
· Basic experience in graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite (or similar software) is an asset.

At the stage of acceptance of an internship placement, interns must prove to the satisfaction of UNRWA that they have adequate medical and accident insurance coverage prior to commencing the placement.
Intern placements shall not constitute employment by UNRWA. Interns are considered to be complementary personnel with non-staff status. The purpose of the internship program is not to lead to further employment with UNRWA but to complement an intern's studies. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of an internship. Interns are eligible to apply as external candidates for UNRWA staff vacancies in accordance with normal selection procedures.
