Within NN IP (Investment partners) we are looking for a junior pricing and valuation analyst that is able to combine knowledge on pricing and valuation with experience in maintaining and improving pricing processes including data management and controls.

Within NN IP, Pricing and Valuation is part of the Data Management department, and is responsible for the centralized sourcing, calculation, validation and distribution of prices across different platforms in the value chain. An important part of this responsibility is to ensure that these prices, including the in-house built and maintained model valuations, are a proper reflection of the fair valuation of the instruments in the market. The team in The Hague is supported by an external, operational team in India that is focused on the execution of the daily process.

Your impact as a junior Pricing and Valuation analyst at NN

As a Pricing and valuation analyst you will work in an international working environment and will become part of the Data Management team of NN IP. The team has the core objective to ensure that all data users throughout the company have access to relevant, timely and high quality comprehensive data, in a controlled and standardized manner such that it reduces risk and total cost of data ownership. Next to that, the team is also responsible for valuation modeling such as for loans and mortgages as well as pricing of (OTC) derivatives either in house or outsourced.

The team is continually focused to design new- and improve existing processes and methodologies around pricing and valuations but also on the sourcing, validation and distribution of data to all users in the organization. This means investment decisions, risk management, (client) reporting, and much more is directly based on your work. Besides, you will be the first port of call in case questions or urgent data incidents, and will be the leading person in giving direct oversight and support to our offshore team, which is located in India.

As part of NNIP’s ambition for 2022, the Data Management team is in a transition phase where we are refocusing on changing and optimizing processes, designing the to-be data landscape, implementing and decommissioning systems, and adopting new ways of working.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the pricing and valuation process in line with market practices, company methodologies and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to efficient and practical change management on processes, assessing their impact, and assure they land successfully within the team
  • Follow up on incidents, including root cause analysis, formulation of tactical/structural solutions and communication to both clients and management
  • Liaise with the offshore team on questions, issues and escalations
  • Contribute to periodical reviews on pricing and valuation models and to oversight on the processes
  • Support in testing and implementation of system changes. Upon implementation, drives knowledge transfer and training to the team members
  • Communicate and align suggested solutions and (possible) implemented changes with related stakeholders
  • Support periodical in- and external audit cycles

  • An academic degree in Finance or a technical related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in the financial industry with executing, improving and overseeing pricing and valuation processes
  • Understanding of Asset Management or related field would be a plus
  • Knowledge of (pricing) financial instruments, particularly (OTC) derivatives, fixed income and illiquid instruments
  • Out of the box thinker and eager to learn
  • Proactive Team player
  • Experience in coding or Bloomberg/Refintiv would be advantageous
