Investigate project cost flow and data management project planning

This is a graduation assignment for a BSc candidate in Industrial Engineering and management, Business Administration/Management or similar.

Nexperia is a dedicated global leader in Semiconductor devices. We are a new company with a long history, broad experience and a global customer base. Originally part of Philips, we became a business unit of NXP before becoming an independent company in the beginning of 2017.

Nexperia ships over 90 billion products annually, which is made possible by 11,000 employees in 5 internal fabs, located in Europe and Asia, and 3 R&D centers.

The business group Analog & Logic R&D department of Nexperia is located in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Here Logic IC’s are developed, tested, qualified and released for production. The products are used in a wide range of applications, like automotive, mobile, whitegoods and industrial. Project teams are working on introducing these new products.

Currently there is an opportunity for improvement in the cost management process within projects. This is due to processes underlying are not clear. To ensure efficient cost management insights in the processes related to the costs charged to the projects should be available. For example, when ordered materials will be charged to the project.

Another opportunity for improvement is the data management of the project planning. The project planning is used in different occasions. In the project teams, project review meetings and for reporting the KPI’s. It is important that in all cases the planning is the same. We are looking for a solution where these different documents are connected.

The activities to be performed during the internship:

For this assignment we are looking for a candidate who is familiar with project management way of working, with analytic skills, self-driven and eager to learn, taking initiative and having an entrepreneurial attitude. Since Nexperia is an international company, very good communication skills in English are an absolute requirement. Nexperia will provide professional guidance and support from the Logic development team in Nijmegen to help the candidate to make this assignment a success!
