Are you ready to combine software development and technical analysis in defence aerospace? Does your heart beat faster for innovative software applications and complex technical analyses? At GKN Fokker Aerospace in Hoogeveen, you’ll get the opportunity to work on advanced composite structures for defence applications. Within the Global Technology Center, you’ll work on unique internal tools such as FokkerWind and further develop automated production techniques. Does this sound like your next step?
GKN Fokker Hoogeveen is part of GKN Aerospace, a globally influential player in the aerospace industry. The Hoogeveen site is a key location within GKN Aerospace, specializing in the development and production of advanced composite structures for the aerospace and defence industries. The focus here lies on designing, analysing, and manufacturing lightweight, high-strength components essential for modern aircraft and defence applications.
Within the Global Technology Center, multidisciplinary teams work on innovative solutions, including the development of internal software tools like FokkerWind and the implementation of automated production technologies. These activities contribute to the further digitalization and optimization of engineering and manufacturing processes within GKN Aerospace. The Hoogeveen facility plays a crucial role in delivering high-end technologies and products that meet the stringent standards of the aerospace and defence sectors.
As an Analysis Engineer Software, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on the development of new composite structures. Your main focus will be the software side of engineering and simulation.
Within the Global Technology Center - Missiles Laboratory, GKN Fokker operates its own custombuilt Taniq robotic system and an internally developed software platform called FokkerWind. This tool plays a pivotal role: it controls all winding programs for the Pultrex CNC filament winding machines in Hoogeveen and Tallassee, and also translates lay-up data into stress analysis software like Abaqus.
The goal is to continuously maintain, develop, and expand their digital engineering capabilities in design, analysis, and production simulation. This is essential to delivering higher-performing, more cost-effective products with increasingly complex geometries. In addition to the filament winding process, the system is capable of integrating and supporting other automated production methods such as fiber placement and braiding, all connected through the FokkerWind platform.
Your core responsibility in this role will be the ongoing development and professionalization of FokkerWind as the central simulation platform. It also serves as the hub for managing and expanding our intellectual property related to filament winding design and processing. What else is important to know? You will:
You combine technical knowledge with strong analytical skills. You enjoy developing and applying new software solutions in a high-tech production environment.
You’ll join an organization where technology, innovation, and international collaboration are central. Your work directly impacts future defense applications.
