Production Associate — Food Production

Wat ga je doen?

Propvol Pies is hiring our first Production Associate — South African pies for Amsterdam bars and cafés, made in a shared kitchen in The Hague.

16 hrs/week over 2 days, often more. 6-month contract. Honest version: repetitive, physical, and a bit chaotic while we work out how to produce at volume. You'd help build that process.

Production or savoury pie experience is a big plus. No experience but organised and serious about food? Apply anyway. We'll pay for your HACCP

You'd be our first hire, joining a team of three from November.

Big plus — production line experience. If you've worked a line and have opinions about layout, batching and flow, bring them. We'll try them that week, not next quarter.

Big big plus — savoury pie experience. If you've made pies at volume anywhere in the world, you go straight to the top of the pile.

Otherwise: fast hands, organised, reliable, and genuinely interested in food. HACCP certificate welcome — and if you don't have one, we'll pay for it.

A lot of the work is repetitive — you'll make the same thing hundreds of times, standing up, and there's lifting. Some days will be messy and badly planned, because we're learning. Things will change.

In return: you see the whole business, not one station. In a team of three there's nowhere to hide, which cuts both ways, but it does mean your suggestions get tried rather than filed. And there are tastings, because someone has to decide which fillings make the cut.

Making basic shortcrusts, forming pies, helping with operational efficincies needed for scaling such as packaging, cooking and prep work.
